Chapter Content
Chapter1: The Underpainting
This Full length four hour "Start To Finish" DVD begins with setting our base colours and blocking in the major shapes of our underpainting. All base colours are listed and blocked in on screen with full instruction on the process in this chapter.

Chapter 2: Painting The Sky
In the second chapter we begin the process of building up the structure of our sky and concentrate on creating a warm glow to it. We start by using a wet on wet technique to create smooth transition, then move on to creating subtle shapes and transition. We will learn how to blend to a smooth look and how to play warms and cools off each other. We will then learn how to detail our clouds and create subtle detail that blends nicely into a complete look.

Chapter 3: Painting The Mountains
Chapter three takes us on to the mountains were we will learn how to break down complex shapes and then bring them all together. This chapter deals with how to manipulate colour to help create a sense of depth in our painting and how to use intensity to enhance depth. This chapter also deals with how to create subtle more refined shapes in large areas. The chapter finishes up with instruction on how to blend the sky and mountains together for a soft transition look.

Chapter 4: Creating The Tree-Line
Video/Disk 2 begins the ability to break down a tree-line and identify where the changes in structure are so we can create depth and variety. This chapter includes how to create flow along your tree-line and paint soft transition along our perspective. In this chapter we will concern ourselves with the use of colour intensity and the subtle change in hue to create variety and pattern in our tree-line.

Chapter 5: Painting the River
Chapter five is our longest chapter and instructs in detail how to create flow and texture in moving river. We will learn how to identify larger areas and how to blend our base colours to create a solid foundation. Once our blending is complete we then learn how to create the ripping effect of cascading water and how to transform from cascading/rippling water into gentle soft flowing water. This chapter raps up with instruction on how to create tree-line reflections in your water and then how to bring it all together with washes.

Chapter 6: Creating The Rocky Shore
Many people struggle with complex patterns. In this chapter I will show you how I break up complex shapes and break them down into more manageable areas. I will show you techniques that will help you paint rocks with variety and randomness, but still maintain a unified look and fell.

Chapter 7: Finishing Touches To Water
Now that we have our water and our rocks painted we can move our attention to "randomizing" the shoreline and create final detail. This chapter instructs on how to create a broken up shoreline and how to blend the shoreline into your water with detailed rippling and texturing.

Chapter 8: Final Touches
This chapter shows you step by step how to paint soft detail in our sky and then how to blend and soften where needed. We will learn how to drybrush and glaze to create a soft looking, serene landscape painting.
